O.J.-East: The Susan Smith Case

Union gained the nickname "O.J.-East" because of the murder trial happening at the same time in L.A. I covered portions of the Simpson case, but for the Susan Smith trial, I worked gavel-to-gavel. The judge refused to allow cameras in court, so coverage depended on my reporting from inside the courtroom. CBS News, UPI and countless local stations (one in London) requested my reports throughout the trial.
